Thanks to West Marine and the non-profit BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water for their efforts to increase boating safety. They have teamed up to give away more than 2,500 life jackets.

West Marine donated the Type-III vest-style life jackets and the Boat US Foundation co-originated the distribution with special attention going to at-risk youth and in community swimming and sailing programs.

State boating agencies in Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Washington received jackets along with the National Safe Boating Council.
