Rod Thomas

Started sailing in 1968 on small dinghies. His first step into ocean sailing began in 1974 as crew of a South African 60 ft ferro-cement ketch, Yacht Erica. Rod trained at Brooklands and became a marine engineer working for DS Marine in Puerto Andraitx, Mallorca for several years. Here he delivered, maintained and skippered many vessels from 30ft to 125ft. Rod has owned various sailboats which include a Beneteau 411 and later an Arcona 460, both built to his specifications. He has worked many International Boat Shows including Southampton and Barcelona delivering and showing various manufacturers sailing machines. His current sailboat is a Kadey Krogen 38 cutter that he is in the process of completely rebuilding which truly is a labor of love, blood, sweat and tears.

Rod is an RYA Ocean Master, Yacht Master and also holds his American Captain’s License. With a lifetime in and around the marine industry Rod is an interesting British character who will take great care of your requirements whether you are selling or buying a sailboat.
