The Island Packet 440 spacious and very livable accommodations feature a beautiful varnished teak interior, furniture quality satin varnish, a teak and holly cabin floor and upgraded UltraLeather cushions new in 2022.  The floor plan features a two stateroom with two head layout (plus salon accommodations) which is perfect for guests or family. Along with the great layout the boat has ample storage throughout all areas.

VIVO'S  interior is warm and inviting. Thirteen opening ports w/screens and eight hatches with OceanAir screens & shades provide abundant light and air flow. You'll admire the beautiful furniture quality satin gloss varnish applied to the select teak hardwood veneers on the bulkheads and all cabinetry.

As you descend the companionway ladder, you will see the open salon with full length settees on both sides covered in beautiful UltraLeather upholstery - NEW in 2022. The starboard settee extends toward the centerline to make a comfortable double berth and both settees can double as seaberths.  A cedar-lined hanging locker with extra height rods is outboard with a shelf above.

The dining table is Island Packet's signature fold-up bulkhead-mounted table. When deployed it will accommodate a large group and then conveniently stores away when not in use.

There is a very nice forward-facing navigation center with seating for two, large varnished chart table, storage tray, generous nav/electronics panel with master AC/DC electrical panels. The comfortable wide bench seat has removable panels beneath revealing lots of storage.

The forward owner's stateroom spans the beam of the yacht and includes a generous offset island berth with access on both sides so you don't have to disturb your partner when getting out of bed. The berth is hinged and can be raised on gas support struts to reveal ample storage. There is a large cedar-lined hanging locker and teak bureau. A nice dressing seat to port adds a final touch.

An owner's luxurious private head is located adjacent to the stateroom and features a large stall shower with folding acrylic doors, The head is spacious with a toilet, vanity with Corian counterop and molded sink. Mirrored storage cabinets and large drawers finish this impressive head.

The aft guest stateroom also features a large offset double island berth, a roomy cedar-lined hanging locker with extra height rods outboard, and an array of cabinets, bins, and shelves. As in the owner's stateroom, the berth top hinges on gas struts to reveal lots of storage beneath.

The aft head is just as nice as the forward with the same Corian countertops, separate shower stall with seat and folding acrylic doors, and toilet. A door is conveniently located near the companionway in the main salon plus an additional door for private access from the aft stateroom.

The roomy cockpit is safe and comfortable with bimini and dodger. The large swim platform features twin molded-in steps to port and starboard, a hot/cold shower and a fold-out swim ladder.

Galley & Salon

The well located galley is in the starboard aft corner with easy access to the cockpit as well as the salon. It features numerous convenience items for the cruising sailor such as generous wrap around acrylic counter tops with integral sea rails, numerous deep drawers and lockers for provisioning and food storage plus a slip resistant molded sole that provides secure footing and easy maintenance for this busy area.

Island Packet is recognized as a world leader in the construction of high quality cruising yachts through its rigorous attention to design, engineering and the manufacturing process. Nowhere is this more evident than in the selection and installation of equipment. The very accessible engine room boasts lead-lined insulation, jacketed and swedged fuel lines, a secondary electric fuel pump and an over-sized Racor fuel filter/water separator, plus the plumbing system has special odor resistant sanitation hoses.

The heart of the mechanical systems is a 75hp Yanmar 4JH4-TE turbocharged diesel. A four cylinder engine that is fresh water cooled and mounted on rubber isolation mounts on a reinforced fiberglass bed with an integral oil pan, mechanical fuel pump, and a high output Balmar 100 amp alternator with a voltage regulator.

The hull of the Island Packet 440 features the Full Foil Keel design which offers a moderate draft, low ballast placement for increased stability, excellent prop and rudder protection and a highly effective airfoil shape for windward performance. The deck features a recessed foredeck, an integral bow pulpit with two SeaSafe anchor rollers and a two-tone diamond pattern non-skid. The cockpit offers contoured seating that can accommodate a large crew in comfort. The exterior teak is treated with Semco teak sealer for ease of maintenance.

Vivo has a great canvas package from Boatswains Locker- NEW in 2022. It includes a burgundy dodger featuring a Tuffak-AR abrasion resistant windscreen, and a bimini with a connector panel. Additional canvas features  include a sail trim window, stainless steel grab handles and a protective windscreen cover.

The cutter rig is the choice of experienced offshore cruisers because of its versatility, ease of use and excellent performance over a wide range of wind conditions. VIVO  improves upon this highly desired sailplan with a free-standing Hoyt staysail boom, simplifying control and adding significant performance to this effective sail. For the ultimate in handling the boat has the electric winch package for the primary winches.
