2002 Island Packet 420

An innovative blend of liveaboard comfort and practical cruising features is evidenced throughout the IP420, delivering the best accomodations of any yacht in its size range.

Starting forward is a large anchor locker with interior access through a tall door in the forward head.  The divided anchor well easily accommodates ground tackle, plus there is a storage area aft large enough to store a third anchor, cleaning supplies, etc.

The forward head features a separate shower stall with acrylic door, a deep S/S sink with vanity, marine toilet (always flushed with fresh water only), several lockers and drawers and excellent ventilation with an overhead hatch and opening portlights.

The forward owner's suite is a true delight with the entire beam of the yacht utilized for a grand and inviting retreat. The large island berth with is offset from the hull providing easy access from both sides.  The foot of the berth lifts on gas struts for blanket storage. A custom 3-drawer bureau is in lieu of the standard dressing seat. Additional cabinets, drawers, storage bins and a deep hanging locker provide ample storage.  Thee are two screened large overhead hatches and screened opening portlights for excellent ventilation.

Next aft is the main salon featuring Island Packet's signature bulkhead-mounted fold-up table.  With table up, the salon becomes a spacious and inviting space for living, relaxing and entertaining. The settee cushions are covered in light biege UltraLeather. The starboard settee pulls out to provide a double berth. There are huge storage areas behind and beneath the settees.

Next aft to starboard is the navigation station with an electric swing-out seat and large hinged chart table.  The main electrical panel, monitors, VHF radio and other instruments are all within easy reach.

The large U-shaped galley, immediately to the starboard side of the companionway, features double S/S sinks, a 3-burner propane stove with oven, microwave, generous wrap around counter space, and a large Frigoboat keel-cooled refrigerator and freezer.  There is abundant storage for dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, and food items.

To port is the aft head with entry from the salon or aft cabin, shower with teak seat and wrap-around curtain, marine toilet (always flushed with fresh water only), vanity with and S/S sink, large mirror, excellent ventilation.

The aft cabin features a large Pullman-style berth, large cedar-lined locker, and numerous drawers and bins. A custom teak storage bin was added to house the companionway boards.

The cockpit is large and comfortable for sailing or just relaxing.   When entertaining, the folding teak cockpit table is perfect and even includes an extension when you're hosting happy hour.  The cockpit seats are ergonomically designed and long enough for sleeping. There are stern rail "catbird" seats to port and starboard. A swim ladder drops down to the sugar scoop swim platform and extends below the surface.
