This Hans Christian 43T was custom built for it's one and only owner to provide a safe, secure, easy to sail cruising vessel. The owner demanded a warm, cozy live aboard interior atmosphere built to the highest standards to withstand the rigors of long distance offshore sailing while providing the safety necessary to visit foreign ports in comfort. Her design requirements specified heavy scantlings, brass and stainless hardware and a sail configurations that offers maximum flexibility for short handed crew on extended voyages. Her comfort and motion at sea were strongly considered to reduce fatigue on long passages. Likewise, her moderate displacement allows for load carrying capability to accommodate cruising stores and spares. Her beauty, warmth and functionality are recognized where ever Hans Christian yachts appear in the cruising community. Calypso has a proven history of considerable long range cruising. With her recent extensive refit, significant equipment inventory, many spare parts and upgraded systems, this cruising vessel is ready to explore the world again.

This classic cruising yacht underwent a $100K refit in 2009-2012 that replaced/upgraded virtually every mechanical, electrical, hull safety and sail control systems. This boat has been beautifully maintained by her owner and clearly shows pride in ownership. Calypso is ready to again cross oceans1 The entire vessel is finished with hand-laid teak and custom bronze reflecting the finest quality and workmanship dictated by her Scandinavian design heritage. The cabin sole is all teak and holly. There are three private staterooms with one of these also serving as a workroom/storage area for use during long range cruising. There is one exquisite head complete with separate tiled ensuite shower and marble vanity. Forward is a full sized extended custom berth with a custom folding box spring mattress and custom shelving. Cabin fans and AC vents provide comfort during those warm tropical nights. Ample custom large drawers and shelving and hanging lockers assure liveaboard amenities. Overhead hatches in all cabins with a magnificent custom butterfly hatch in th4e main salon,14 bronze opening ports and 5 large dorade vents provide fresh air ventilation. All openings have screens and the portlights include rain deflectors as well. The main salon is elegantly appointed with custom all teak fold out dining table providing dining seating for up to 8-10 crew. On the portside is also a snug sea berth when on long passages with helping crew. When cruising in northern latitudes a custom tiled alcove houses a bronze and stainless fireplace to warm the cabin in snug anchorages. Custom blue/grey ultra-suede upholstery and large bookcase assure a homey snug feeling at night. There also is a 16,500 BTU air conditioning/reverse cycle heating system for comfort in port. A very spacious and efficient galley with Corian countertops and custom double stainless sinks, three burner gimballed propane gas stove with oven and full-size microwave will delight the galley crew. Custom galley storage and pantry assure ease of use in all conditions whether in port or on the high seas. Across from the galley is a comfortable nav station with it's own cushioned seat and seat back. Complete instrumentation is included and allows the Captain/First Mate to plan voyages, communicate with other cruisers or the non-boating world and even operate the vessel totally from below decks. The aft port double cabin is a custom double berth with overhead hatch and three opening ports as well as three cabin fans for ventilation. To starboard is a single berth/workshop area with hanging locker and overhead hatch and two fully screened opening ports. The complete vessel history is available for this one owner yacht. All maintenance records and upgrade history is included. This is a USCG documented vessel.
