She is currently located in Nova Scotia and being prepared for her winter storage (making here the perfect choice for "Main Cruising"this coming spring). And if the Islands are your choice, Ginger could easily be trucked south and and relaunched for a trip to the islands this winter. Whichever is your choice, Ginger will provide you with many years of great sailing and comfortable cruising. So, why not join this group of happy Outbound Cruisers. Outbounds have proven time and time again there worth as an "ocean going vessel", whether it was in crossing the Atlantic, the Pacific or cruising the Bahamas and Caribbean. Accommodations
•Upon descending the "three step" companionway (a signature feature of the Outbound 44), you will find the Nav Station and Galley to port.
•Immediately aft of the Nav Station is the interior access to the "workroom / equipment lazarette / locker".
•Immediately to starboard of the companionway is a large head with a separate stall shower with Curtain. (this shower area makes a great wet locker when underway)
•Immediately aft of the head is a generous quarter cabin.
•Continuing forward is the main salon, properly proportioned for life at anchor or when navigating a passage at sea.
•There are Custom Rugs through-out (to protect the beautiful teak and holly sole)
•There is a "U-Shape" dinette to port and a full settee to starboard. Underway, the settee serves as a great sea berth, and at anchor, there is a folding cocktail table to serve the settee area.
•Forward of the main salon is an exceptionally roomy master cabin. There is a Queen Center-line Berth with hanging / storage lockers port and starboard. There is a computer work station / desk adjacent to the main salon bulkhead (see the interior plan in the photo section). There is also a lavatory provided in the master cabin
•The Queen Berth is a Custom 10" Deep Mattress
•Forward of the Queen Berth is a water-tight bulkhead that separates the master cabin from the sail / gear / anchor locker (that is accessed through a large hatch on-deck).
•The interior Woodwork is Beautiful Hand-crafted "Honey-colored" Teak
•Operable port lights by Newfound Metals, overhead hatches with screens, along with the fixed port lights in the salon provide for good ventilation and light throughout
Galley
•Features that set Ginger's galley apart from many other blue-water cruisers include generous Corian counter space with high fiddles, exceptional drawer and dry goods storage, an easily accessible refrigerator and a separate freezer
•The refrigerator / freezer is powered by the 12 volt "Technautics Holding Plate System".
•The double compartment stainless steel sink and the three-burner Force-10 stove are conveniently located for meal preparation at anchor or underway.
•There is tray storage and a spice shelf immediately adjacent to the stove.
•The galley also provides a dedicated cabinet for a microwave with deck hatch ventilation above the galley area.
Head
•The head is located immediately outboard of the companionway to starboard. The separate stall shower serves as a great wet-locker when underway in in-climate conditions.
•The head and lavatory area comes with generous Corian counter space and storage for your bath articles.
•The holding tank is served by a macerator pump and "Y- selector valve" in the head
Lockers, and More Lockers
•There is no other 44' sailboat that provides the volume of "functional storage" as does the Outbound 44! Immediately to port and adjacent to the cockpit is access to the large work room / locker that can be accessed from the cockpit or from down below. This locker is the size of most quarter cabins and provides ready access to refrigeration, generator, fuel filters, tools and a massive quantity of gear and spare parts.
•On-deck, immediately aft is the propane locker that accommodates two, 20 lb propane bottles.
•Center aft of the cockpit is the walk-through transom (helm seat) leading to the swim platform. As you step from the cockpit / helm area onto the swim platform, you pass an area dedicated for life raft storage. Here you will also find stern shore power connections to port and the on-deck shower to starboard.
•There is another large stern locker to starboard that runs the full depth of the hull. A great area for lines, fenders, stern anchor and other gear.
•On-deck forward, you will find a cavernous locker that is positioned immediately aft of the anchor windless. This locker provides access to the chain and anchor rode locker, the forward shore power connection (and yes, Ginger has a forward and aft shore power connection point), so now there is less chance of the cord being 6" too short!! This locker is perfect for storing your spinnaker and other deck-related gear.
•And down below, there is volumes of storage in various floor-board areas and in numerous lockers, positioned below and behind / outboard of the settee and dinette seating.
•There is also additional storage under both the quarter berth and main cabin berths. Ginger is a true blue-water boat with proper storage to accommodate extended travels aboard.
On-Deck and Sails
•Ginger features a massive "Carbon Fiber Rudder"
•With her 6'-6" draft and feather-lite Rudder, Ginger is a pleasure to helm
•Wide side-decks, 30" high lifelines and abundant hand-holds provides for safe movement about the decks in a sea-way.
•Safety rails at the mast provide for stable footing
•Schafer Roller Furling system for Genoa with Hood Vectran Sail 6.0 oz (659 square feet)
