The Catalina 36 offers tremendous cruising comfort above and below decks. Above decks you'll enjoy the large cockpit and high coamings, walk-thru transom and molded swim platform and stern rail seats. Going forward is safe and easy with wide side decks and inboard shrouds. All the lines are led aft to coach roof mounted sheet stoppers and self-tailing halyard winches. The self-tailing sheet winches are within easy reach of the helm, making the Catalina 36 easy to single or short hand sail.
Below decks the 36 offers comfort and accommodations for the entire crew. This 36 features the "L" shaped port settee layout with bulkhead mounted salon table storage. Stowing the table creates a rather large, open "living room" feel to the salon. The starboard settee is quite unique and can be either a full length settee/single berth or converted to a breakfast nook with small table and two seats. Just forward on starboard is the entertainment center with a hide-a-way TV compartment and drawers. The "U" shaped cruising galley is on port and features plenty of countertop space and storage, refrigeration, microwave and a propane stove w/ oven. Opposite is the navigation station with a flip-top chart table and dedicated nav chair. The private aft cabin features an athwartship Queen with backrest for reading, standing headroom and plenty of storage. The V-Berth features a large double berth, standing headroom, large opening hatch and private access to the head.
Overall, the 36 is very accommodating. She offers sleeping berths for 7 adults, headroom in each cabin, an open salon, plenty of cruising storage and a very easy to handle sail plan.
