Additional
By far, Island Girl is the best example you will find of this model on the current market. As a matter of fact she may be the best example of an Island Packet 38, period. She may be priced a little higher but that is because almost everything is NEW.
The 38 went a long way in helping to establish Island Packet's firm hold on this segment of the market and helped the company to prosper when many other builders struggled. The Island Packet 38 was in production from 1986 to 1993. In all 188 were sold. Island Girl was produced near the end of the production of this model making her one of the newest 38's on the market.
Make no mistake about it, the Island Packet 38 is a cruising sailboat. The accommodations and livability of Island Packets are well known in the sailing community. This model remains one of the most popular IP's on the used market reflecting the solid construction, the company's reputation for customer support, and their history of holding their value.
With the upgrades and improvements to Island Girl you would think that she just rolled out of the Island Packet factory. Words can't possibly describe the job the current owners have done in refitting this boat to absolute bristol condition. If there was ever an example of a boat that must be seen to be appreciated, this is it. Owners health issues have forced them to put this pristine yacht on the market.
We sincerely hope you do yourself a favor and see this boat before you buy. She is truly "the find of a lifetime".
